Geyser Experiment with Coke Zero

We created a geyser with Mentos and Coke Zero. You can use Coke, Diet Coke or Coke Zero. We found that Coke Zero produced the best geyser! Let’s watch and find out. You can do this experiment at home too. You’ll need the following supplies to create this fun experience! Make sure to perform this outside!

Materials needed:

Diet Coke or Coke Zero (Coke Zero worked best)
A roll of Mentos
An index card to make a tube
A table

How to do the experiment:

Make a tube and fill the tube with a full pack of Mentos
Open and place the 2-liter bottle of Coke Zero on the ground or table outside
Place the tube of Mentos over the opening of the Coke Zero. Hold Mentos in with a finger and count down from 10 to 1
Release Mentos into the Coke Zero and watch it erupt!
Do it again and try Diet Coke or regular Coke or other cola brands
Have fun experimenting!
